ABOUT US:  History

For those afflicted with neuropathy and their loved ones, The Neuropathy Association is here to help.

The Neuropathy Association is a public, nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City. It was established in 1995 by people with peripheral neuropathy and their families and friends, as well as experts in the field, to help those who suffer from disorders that affect the peripheral nerves. We have 50,000 active members and supporters, with approximately 120 support groups throughout the United States and abroad providing public awareness, patient support, education and advocacy.  At present, we have seven Neuropathy Centers at major university hospitals across the country, serving patients with peripheral neuropathy by providing treatment and conducting research into the causes and cure of neuropathy.
